Omega 3 fatty acids: According to many Otolaryngology or ENT doctors, having a diet rich in omega-3-fatty acids can help cure dry and burning eyes. The fatty acids help to control DES (Dry Eye Syndrome). So, include foods that are rich in omega-3-fatty acids like salmon and flax seeds. If you suffer from stomach upset, take omega-3 supplements with your food.

Wash the eyes: Sometimes dry and burning eyes can be cured by washing with cold water. The eyes become tired and dry if exposed to the computer or television screen for a long time. The rays from the screen evaporate the tears from the eyes thus making it dry and itchy. To prevent inflammation and DES, wash your eyes with cold water at short intervals.

Relax your eyes: When the eyes start burning and become dry, you can relax them by putting a cold compress. For example, chilled cucumber slices or washed raw potato slices can be of great help. This is one of the most common home remedies to cure dry and itchy eyes.

Take a break: If you have to sit in front of the computer or laptop for a long time, then it is recommended that you take breaks at short intervals. You can try few eye exercises to relax the dry eyes. Looking at the computer screen for a long period of time makes it dry. Place your cold fingertips and rotate the eyes gently to relax them. This exercise cures eye pain and is an effective remedy for dry eyes syndrome.

Rose water drops: This is another home remedy to cure dry and itchy eyes. Apply a few drops of rose water into your eyes. It not only cleans the eyes by dissolving the dirt particles but also keeps it moisturized.
