fall skin careNow that the summer heat is starting to fade, it’s time to prepare your sun damaged skin for the fall season. Both summer and fall can take a major toll on aging skin, so it is very important to adjust your skin care routine to protect and restore your skin’s natural balance. Here are some essential anti aging tips to prepare your skin for the fall season.

1. Invest in a good facial exfoliant. It is important to remove sun damaged cells by exfoliating once a week with a good facial scrub. Exfoliating your skin regularly can help get rid of dead skin cells as well as damaged cells which can help reveal a much healthier and radiant skin. And of course, when exfoliating, never ever forget to moisturize afterwards.

2. Moisturize your skin inside and out. As temperatures start to drop, it is essential to use a more heavy duty moisturizer at night. Make sure to use a moisturizer that is formulated for your skin type, or else you might have to deal with breakouts and other skin irritations. Apart from moisturizing your skin by using moisturizers, it’s also important to moisturize and nourish your skin from within. Vitamin E is very good for the skin. It has restorative properties and anti aging benefits as well. One capsule a day would be sufficient.  Aside from taking vitamin E supplements, it’s also important to drink lots of water every day. Water hydrates and flushes out the toxins in your system which can help reveal much healthier skin.  What many have not considered, is drinking water before bed.  Most people believe that this is not a good idea since drinking water before bed will ensure a trip to the washroom during the night.  Drinking water before bed thoroughly flushes toxins while we sleep. Getting up for a minute or two during the sleep period is part of that process.  If you make this part of your nightly routine you will see a difference in the texture and look of your skin.
