Skin Care – A Labour of Love

June 14, 2010

zach3Keeping fit, healthy and looking the best you can, is the highest expression of self  love possible. I am not referring to ego or arrogance but a process where self esteem is paramount to a successful life. People across the globe contact me seeking advise on topics which include, general health, beauty and successful thinking.  I have received messages from those as young as 14 and as old as 85. I believe that you are never too young or too old to maximize your full potential.

To date I have kept my private beauty and health secrets to myself.  After all it is personal, right?  Until recently I came to the realization that as an active and well know participant in the World of Anti-Aging with particular focus on the eye area,  I decided to share what I do and what I know.

Last week I was invited to attend a small private gathering of wealthy young men and woman from Spain, France and the UK who wanted to know how they could maximize their full beauty potential.  I realized early on that some of the guests were Royals.  Members of that elite class of families famous world wide.  Nervously, I began to share.  To my astonishment many of the guests began to take notes.  What started as a casual event soon turned into a lecture on becoming the best one can be, inside and out.

Never could I have imagined that in the process of building a business that I would in fact become a role model.
As the evening progressed, one young lady asked, “Zach how old are you?”  I immediately began to choke on my Bling spritzer.  I wanted to give my usual pat answer which would place me somewhere in my thirties.  In that moment I knew that to fudge the truth would be, not only dishonest but a disservice to these young folk who trusted me.  I blurted out the number.  “I am 56 years old”.  The room fell silent, then to my amazement the guests stood to their feet with thunderous applause.

As near as I can tell, I do not look a day over 38 years old.  I have made it that way.  I have done my research and for years have devoted my life to the development and use of exceptional products that do stop and reverse the hands of time.

Here is how I have done it.  As many of you know I am a former model.  At 22 years of age a well known  makeup artist advised me to start taking care of my skin right away.  He explained that if I start young I will stay young.  He was right.

At 22 I took the first steps in maintaining my looks.  In those days no one was aware of how damaging the UV rays of the sun can be to exposed skin.  This is the single most important factor in the battle against aging.  Sun destroys the skin cells and retards the production of Collagen, which is essential to healthy looking skin.  Unlike others who were using Baby Oil to fry their skin and maintain the darkest tan humanly possible, I began to sit in shaded areas and use sun block.  I started off with a Copper Tone product. Today I use Loreal Kids Sun Screen.  A beautiful light lotion that is gentle and keeps the UV rays at bay.

I stopped using soap on my body and face.  Soap is harsh and depletes the skin’s natural oils.  As an alternative I use Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash with Shea Butter.  This is a marvelous cleanser that maintains the perfect PH balance your skin needs to stay firm and clear of toxins.

For my face I start with Carrot Seed Milk Cleanse and follow with Carrot Seed Toner.  Carrot Seed oil is rich in Carotene and Vitamin-A, both of which are blessings for eyes and effective anti oxidants.  I use the NCN Proffesional Skin Care line.  100% pure and natural with no chemical preservatives or parabens.

In addition I use a skin peel called Pro Pumpkin Peel, also by NCN.  This  not only repairs and firms the skin in minutes, it has the intoxicating fragrance of your mom’s favorite pumpkin pie.  I use this only once a week.  After all it is a peel and must be used in moderation.

At night before bed I apply a thin layer of  Loren Pickart’s Copper Peptides Regenerative Serum.  Traditionally Copper Pepetides have been used in the healing of skin lesions.  Until Dr. Pickart discovered the tremendous benefits CP had on skin rejeneration.

Recently, scientists in France have found that CP stimulates collagen synthesis. At Stanford University’s Wound Healing and Tissue Engineering Laboratory, scientists have found that certain types of copper peptides help the process of skin remodeling and removal of scar tissue. Such types of copper peptides help activate the skin’s metalloproteinases that remove damage proteins (sun as sun-damaged collagen and elastin) and scars. At the same time, they help activate the your skin’s anti-proteinases TIMP-1 andTIMP-2, which protect against excessive breakdown of protein. Therefore, copper peptides added to skin creams help the process of rebuilding new collagen and elastin into the skin.

As a day cream I use one of my own inventions, which is not on the market as yet.  It is a beautiful white cream moisturizer which absorbs quickly, penetrating the deep surface layers of the epidermis and is non greasy.  The ingredients include Matrixyl.

This has made a wonderful addition to my daily routine and found that the deep lines, particularly on my neck area have diminished by almost 100%.

For my eye area I use my now famous Easy Eye Solutions.  The EES has given me the eye’s I had when I was 25 years old.  As you know these are an eye treatment for under eye puffiness and dark circles.  The concept was based on ancient Chinese medicine.  They contain powerful antioxidants and will rejuvenate the under eye tissue with continued use.  The Instant Eye Tuck & Dark Circle Treatment will instantly firm up the under eye bags in a matter of minutes.  The results are dramatic and long lasting.

In addition, I take an effective Muti Vitamin, 2000 MG. of Vitamin C, Omega 3-6-9 supplements.  These keep my immune system in top performance.  I  work out regularily and keep a positive attitude.

I am also a firm believer in facial exercises as well.  Many are not aware that facial skin is attached directly to facial muscles.  This is the only area of the body where this occurs.  If your facial muscles are in shape then your skin will be firmer, thus giving you a healthy youthful look.

I would recommend the Tanaka Facial Massage.  However, a word of caution.  Be very careful when massaging your eye area.  If you apply too much pressure you will in fact damage the eye tissue.
