Is your cell phone aging you?
February 24, 2014
For most of us, the cell phone is the first and last thing we look at each day. In spite of the obvious benefits of having a cell phone, their is a down side that you may not be aware of.
1. Dark Circles
Cell phones emit radiation which can cause headaches and interrupt sleep patterns. This in turn causes anxiety and a disruption in sleep patterns. A disruption like this, which affects our body’s natural rhythm, can cause dark under eye circles as well as under eye puffiness.
2. Serious Wrinkles
If the font on your phone is small, causing you to squint, that might lead to forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet over time. Since this is a repetitive action it will largely go unnoticed. Wrinkles around the eyes and forehead can become quit deep and very difficult to treat.
3. Bad Skin
Cell phones carry many harmful bacteria – including staph, E. coli and salmonella. Your cell phone is often pressed up against your face many times per day, making it’s easy for that bacteria to migrate to your skin, leading to breakouts and infections. It is important to use an alcohol swab several times a week to properly clean the front as well as the sides and back of your phone to kill harmful bacteria.
4. Sagging Jaw line
Constantly looking down at your cell phone to check your emails, send a text, or play a game can lead to a saggy, wrinkled neck and jaw line. There are only a few ways to reverse this condition. One way is facial and neck exercises, holding your phone up instead of down, or surgery. Using a hands free devise will prevent this problem altogether.
5. Red Eyes
Staring at your cell phone screen for hours on end while surfing the Web or responding to emails can cause your eyes not only to dry out but also to become extremely red. Red eyes are caused by swollen or dilated blood vessels on the sclera (which is the white outer surface of the area) and can be avoided in this case by taking frequent breaks from your cell phone screen or using lubricating eye drops to help keep eyes moist.
These are just a few points that may help you think in a more holistic way regarding your health and appearance. Keep in mind that to over use any devise or to have repetitive actions throughout the day will have consequences.
